Pack labels are applied to the retail unit itself — cigarette packs, cartons or cigar boxes — and carry brand identity plus covert and overt security features. Sealing labels close the pack after filling; they are typically tamper-evident, so any attempt to open and reseal the pack leaves visible traces. A tobacco tax stamp is a specialized format that combines the function of a seal with controlled numbering, and it is usually the most tightly specified item in the set.

Anti-counterfeiting technologies for tobacco labels

Our factory works with more than 60 anti-counterfeiting technologies, and tobacco work typically draws on a subset chosen for the substrate, print process and inspection conditions on the filling line.

Fluorescent intermittent two-color fiber yarn

One feature used frequently on tobacco labels is fluorescent intermittent two-color fiber yarn embedded in the label material. The yarn appears as broken, irregular segments rather than a continuous thread, and it fluoresces under UV light in two distinct colors. Because the pattern is random, it is difficult to reproduce and quick to verify with a hand-held UV lamp at the point of sale or during audit.

Other technologies commonly combined with fiber yarn include tamper-evident substrates, serialized numbering and other covert marks. We will recommend a feature set based on your threat model and budget rather than applying every option.

Cigar ring labels

Cigar labels, including ring formats, appear in the same range. These are small-format, high-detail labels that must wrap cleanly around a shaped cigar without cracking at the seam. Because ring labels are handled individually and inspected closely by consumers, print registration and color consistency matter more than on a machine-applied pack label. Samples are charged at US$1 per piece, which lets buyers evaluate substrate, UV response and numbering before committing to a production run. Every order is subject to 100% factory inspection rather than AQL sampling, so individual serialized labels are checked before dispatch.

Factory capacity and audit status

The Shenzhen facility covers 1,500 m2 and employs 60–100 people, with monthly capacity of 510,000 to 1,000,000 labels depending on format and feature complexity. The site has been audited by TÜV Rheinland under report MIC-ASR262171. We do not claim government authorization for tax stamps; we manufacture the printed security label to the specification and design supplied by the buyer and its appointed authorities. Buyers are responsible for confirming that their design and distribution comply with the rules of the jurisdiction where the stamps will be used.
