Fluorescent Security Labels with UV Features

This page is for brand owners, packaging engineers and procurement teams who need a visible, verifiable layer of protection on tax stamps, wine and spirits bottles, tobacco packs and similar regulated or high-value goods. It explains how fluorescent security labels work, what UV features Shenzhen Huaxin Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Co., Ltd. can build into them, and the price and MOQ ranges for two of our standard fluorescent label products.

What Fluorescent Security Labels Are and How UV Verification Works

Fluorescent security labels are printed labels that carry invisible or low-visibility fluorescent elements, which respond only when checked under a UV lamp or a dedicated reader. Under normal light the label looks like an ordinary printed label; under UV, hidden markings appear.

Huaxin builds these labels around three feature families:

  • Dotted curved multi-spectrum special fluorescent fibers — fibers embedded in the label material that glow in different colours under different excitation wavelengths, producing a pattern that is very hard to reproduce without the original fiber supply.
  • Fluorescent inks and encryption — printed fluorescent layers, including encrypted patterns that only resolve under specific wavelengths.
  • UV fluorescent text — hidden text or codes that become readable only under UV, useful for batch identification, traceability checks and field inspection.

Because verification needs only a low-cost UV lamp, fluorescent features work well at the point of sale and at customs or excise inspection, where staff cannot carry laboratory equipment. They are usually combined with other security layers rather than used alone; see our security labels range for complementary options such as tamper-evident substrates and serialisation.

Fluorescent Label Options for Tax Stamps and Wine

Two application areas drive most of our fluorescent label work.

Tax stamps and excise marks

Tax stamps need fast visual authentication plus resistance to removal and reuse. Fluorescent inks with encrypted patterns and UV fluorescent text can be printed alongside a QR code, so an inspector can do a quick UV check and a digital check on the same label. Our custom tax and excise stamp page covers the stamp formats and substrates this feature set is built for.

Wine and spirits

For wine, the label itself is part of the brand asset, so the fluorescent element has to stay discreet. Our customized fluorescent wine anti-counterfeiting labels use fluorescent ink and UV text that do not affect the label's normal appearance. Range examples include fluorescent intermittent two-colour fiber yarn labels for tobacco and wine applications, where the fibre pattern doubles as a visible-on-UV identity mark.

Measured Products, Prices and MOQ

The table below lists two fluorescent products with price and MOQ figures. Prices depend on size, substrate, feature combination and order volume, so treat these as starting ranges rather than fixed quotes.

ItemDetail
Eco-friendly optical custom fluorescent pattern UV ink label with QR code for security tax stampUS$0.03–0.08 per label; MOQ 10,000
Customized fluorescent wine anti-counterfeiting labelUS$0.004–0.007 per label; MOQ 10,000

The two ranges belong to the two different products listed above; which one applies depends on the construction you specify, and the final figure is confirmed at quotation.

Manufacturing Capacity and Audit Background

Huaxin has manufactured security labels in Shenzhen since 2008. The factory covers 1,500 m² and employs 60–100 people, with monthly capacity of 510,000 to 1,000,000 labels depending on format and feature mix. We work with more than 60 anti-counterfeiting technologies, which matters for fluorescent labels because the strongest designs combine UV features with a second or third layer — for example fluorescent ink plus fibre plus a serialised QR code.

The company has been audited by TÜV Rheinland (report MIC-ASR262171). Buyers who need audit documentation for supplier qualification can request the relevant report details during the quotation process.

Designing a Fluorescent Feature Set That Fits Your Product

Three practical points decide most fluorescent label projects:

  • Choose the verification level. A simple UV fluorescent text mark is checked by eye with a lamp. Multi-spectrum fibres and encrypted inks usually need a specified wavelength and, in some cases, a reader. Decide who will verify — retail staff, customs officers, or your own quality team — and match the feature to their equipment.
  • Match the feature to the substrate. Fluorescent fibres and inks behave differently on paper, film and foil. Tell us the label material and adhesive you need, or let us recommend a combination based on your application.
  • Keep the covert layer covert. Fluorescent elements should not be visible under normal retail lighting. Ask for a proof under both normal and UV light before approving artwork.

If you are also printing variable data, such as serial numbers or QR codes, combine that with the fluorescent layer in a single pass to avoid mismatched label and code pairs.

Send us your label size, substrate, application (tax stamp, wine, tobacco or other), the fluorescent features you need and your target volume. We will confirm the feature set and return pricing against the ranges above. Start with a quote request through our contact page, or review the full security label range and the tax stamp options before you write your specification.

FAQ

Can fluorescent features be seen under normal light?

No, if specified as covert. Fluorescent inks, UV text and multi-spectrum fibres are designed to be invisible or near-invisible under ordinary lighting and to appear only under the correct UV wavelength. We recommend approving a physical proof under both lighting conditions before mass production.

What is the minimum order quantity for fluorescent security labels?

Both products listed on this page have an MOQ of 10,000 labels. Because price depends on size, substrate and feature combination, the per-label cost is confirmed at quotation rather than fixed by the MOQ alone.

Can a fluorescent label also carry a QR code or serial number?

Yes. Our tax stamp product combines a fluorescent pattern with a QR code, and variable data can be added to wine and tobacco labels as well. Combining the covert fluorescent layer with a serialised code gives inspectors both a visual UV check and a digital record to match.
